My speargun just broke today! :head

Where can I get another one quick? Any websites that can get me one in a couple days? I'm in Kenosha.

Also... I only shoot panfish..... anyone have a speargun suggestion? This one was an economy JBL Carbine... served well for a number of years now, but now broke just as the action is picking up for me.

Any suggestions quick? I'm down to my polespear for now.

Call me right now at 239-455-7401 and I will hook you up immediately.

Jim

75cm single band (I recommend OMER of course). Jim, don't sell him any crap now...top shelf stuff for our harsh conditions!

Chris, are you being a smart aleck again??? You probably don't know this but I only sell the finest gear available at the best prices with excellent customer service and usually free shipping!!! I had a customer a few months ago who wanted to buy himself a Riffe and his son a JBL, but was able to show him an Omer that was a bit nicer and yet less expensive than the JBL. I could have easily did the guy a disservice and said, "Sure, I will sell you whatever you want", but it is not about the sale for me it is about the long term happiness of the fellow spearo who needs gear!

I want any one of the many members on deeperblue who has bought from me in the past year who have recieved anything other than 100% excellent service, shipping speed, or pricing to please come forward and bash me right now!

People can be happy with their purchases from other stores and even praise those stores, but sadly for them they didn't call me first and shop around, because I am certain if they had they would have got gear from The Spearfishing Store (TSS).

Maybe we can hear from some Wisconsin divers about their experiences with TSS such as:

Whopperhead
Pinggene
Jon
land shark
unirdna
fondueset
bjpete
fleshy

The Spearfishing Store is THE BEST!!!! Bglaeser, Call him- He'll probably be able to get it to you by Monday! Super Fast Shipping, Cheap Shipping cost- if he even charges you shipping, The Lowest prices I've ever Seen. The One Time I didn't buy through him- it cost me- but I had no choice- Needed Fins for the next day. When In the Market for ANYTHING - Check with JIMDOE2YOU. He's the Best! But.......Be careful, The prices are SO good on items that you may buy them- even though you don't need them

lol... rofl

actually whopper... before all this flurry of posts, I already called him (Jim) and purchased a gun.

I was going to wait to post my experience with thespearfishingstore until after I got the gun and tried it out, but since poor Jim is feeling a bit persectuted I'll go now....

Jim was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to assess what I needed, what I'm able to afford and explain why he was recommending what he did. I'm confident I'm getting good value for my money and am confident Jim will stand behind what he sells.

He's sending it express mail and I'll be checking the mail starting next week! Until then... I'll hone my polespear skills!

Oh! I got a Rob Allen speargun.... something something (don't remember). But I'm confident it is what *I* am looking for.

RA's are awesome guns. Jim is a good guy from what I've seen too.

Jim yes I was being smart. If I'm not being sarcastic, then I'm probably not talking . I'm still considering the Dahlak. I really want the Mimetic, I'm sure it would work out great. It's either that or I'll be spearing in swimtrunks and a t-shirt.

The Dahlak rocks - I used one in Hatteras - but its for warm water.
Jim is alien mutant spawn. I bought and Interoceter from him and it works great but I have to bribe him to keep him from reading my thoughts.

I managed to write a new software program that transfers the thoughts I read straight to photoshop for visual realization. A few minutes ago Chris had a very odd thought of what it would be like to be the "World's Greatest Female Bodybuilder"!!!

Well, .......here you go Chris! :friday

Hey now, I dove in swimtrunks and a t-shirt for 12 years, and theres nothing wrong with me... :blackeye TSS is the best, you really wont get lower prices, before I knew of jim I bought all over the place, and the prices hes given me have always at least matched the lowest price I could find on the internet. Not to mention he fields calls from me all the time. I wonder how he runs the store when hes always talking to me?

Just so it's clear, there are two Chris' in this conversation and Jim's reference was to the other.

I have dove in shorts and t-shirt in Florida many times. The Dahlak is a comfort think being around rocks and spearing. When on scuba, I don't worry, I stay off the bottom. And I have yet to run into a jelly. I want to get proper protection before I do.

What do you know about atlantic jellys chris? I used to live in south america, and there are dangerous ones, (portugese man of war), but hopefully if you arnt completly blind/stupid you see those comming. I used to walk on the beach everyday, and step on the ones that were dead on the beach. They make little popping noises, and sometimes give you a mild bee sting. Just letting you know, dont waste $200 worrying about animals that are generally benign. But talk to jim, Im sure he can hook you up with a great deal on the dahlak to complete your omer collection.

When I lived in Panama City every August the water is FULL of jelly fish. We had a water survival school on base and we would clean up the area. One day a guy was picking up a dead jellyfish with a shovel and stepped in the sand where it was laying. The burning went up to his knees.

As for seeing them, that all depends on what your doing and where your focus is at the time. I know people have surfaced into them while dealing with a fish. Turn into one by accident, again distracted by any number of things like working a camera (that's why it's an accident).

But mainly, as I stated, it's for protection while spearing. Spearing around rocks, or the bottom in general could be hazardous to skin. When I dive, whether on scuba or freediving, I respect the bottom and the life on it. But sometimes you bump a rock. Protection is good.

On a related note. One day at Shell island in Panama City I was norklin around the dock (in the Ochin) they have out there. I turned and kicked to go down and I kicked the piling with my bare foot. The piling was covered in barnacles and sea squirts. The top of my foot looked like I had a fight with a razor blade.

Don't forget sun protection. The only problem with the Dahlak is when you try to bend forward - its pretty stiff along the back due to the zipper.

Granted dude, Im just sayin... I wouldnt spend $200 on something that really isnt necesarry. The barnacles are a problem, I had no gloves here, and working your way along the bottom and hanging onto mangroves takes a toll on your hands. Worth $20 to keep um pretty? No. But to each their own. If you get one, make sure you get a new one with the super butt. (The old butts where easily broken, talk to jim for the top of the line, modern state of the art version.)

The specifications on the Dahlak suit is changing due to a lack of stretchability when bending over. A few of the original suits would get runs in the nylon over the butt area when the diver would bend over. The new version which will debut in about 4 to 6 weeks will have black supratex all around the pelvic area (kind of like a black pair of shorts).
