Spearfishing in Exeter

Ill be spending a year at Exeter as part of my studies and am wondering if any of you that go spearing around here could perhaps give me a few tips on where to go spearing. Anything close would be best as I dont have a car at the moment.

If you can get yourself to Portland ( East of you 50m ) then you are welcome to come out with me. Not to deep , not to long but bass and lobster are plentifull.
