Has anyone looked into spearfishing national parks? We've done lots of sampling in Waterton and get lots of BIG lake whites in our shallowest set gillnets. If the regs are the same as provincial, it could be a gem of a spot.

There is a no spearfishing in national parks regulation unfortunately. Although, 15 years ago or so I had a couple cousins that used to go to waterton and get lots of trout spearfishing, but they were teenagers then and I don't think they ever looked into regulations. I have dove multiple spots in the lower waterton lakes and in Cameron lake. Cameron lake had lots of nice rainbow trout. If only...
It would be neat to do some diving in the fall to see the lake trout spawn and get some footage. I believe most of thier spawning sites are 5-15m in the middle lake
Yeah- didn't even consider spearing them- There were other lakes that looked REALLY clear also- But It didn't feel right diving in there. Yellowstone lake was different- It was early in the morning and there were no people around. It was still very awesome. I would like to dive it again with the training I've gone through- There was a SHELF that at 20' DROPPED to about 80' then to 120' That would of been cool to check out.
