spearfishing in Pembrokeshire

I'm a french, new to the forum

I contact you for quick information on good area of spearfishing in this region and whether the presence of a national park allows the hunting ..;

I thought find an accommodation in or near Fishguard and coming soon in August ...

I don't snorkel so much on the north coast but know the south coast pretty well and st.davids head a bit. As far as i know the law regarding spear fishing is the same regarding rod and reel. So anywhere the tide can reach you can shoot. There is one marine reserve near and around skomer island.

Hi,

i was in skomer MNR the other day, a warden said that they dont like spearfisihing but they could not tell us not too. he went on to say that fishing and laying of pots is allowed. Seems a bit discriminatory to me, but i did check out the local byelaws, and it is ok. Personally i would just avoid any potentail problems and be as discrete as possible. rest of the coastal national park is fine
