Spearfishing in Philippines

Philippines do not have the same reputation as Indonesia when it comes to spearfishing, due to chronic overfishing and lack of enforcement of marine parks by authorities.
However, the country has a tradition of harvesting food freediving that dates back to hundreds of years, possibly millenias. (Sama/Bajau sea nomads, for example)
The fish tend to hang out deep in Philippines, a bit like in the Mediterranean, and big fish are encountered no shallower than 25 or 30m in most places. .
You'd wish the government would start enforcing real no take zones, and the fish stock would replenish fast, helping all communities living off the sea. .
