In our climate, water in closed tanks twice a year to mars (poor visibility)and purifies (good visibility) twice. It is associated with the nonlinear dependence of the density of water on the temperature in the range near 0 st Celsius. Without going into the details:
- The first mixing - Spring, takes place from the time when the ice starts to melt and takes about 3 to 4 weeks
- Then the water is purified
- The second mixing - autumn is when surface of water cools near 0 st C. This mixture begins most frequently shortly before the formation of ice and it takes about 2-3 weeks even after freezing the lake's surface.
- Then the water is purified and the condition lasts until early spring, when again starts spring mixing.
I invite you on a virtual trip into the depths, and all the sceneries typical for Polish freshwater: bushes, underwater meadows, flooded forests and rocks, in the scenery of spring mixing of the water. The film shows the (hopefully) charms of this phenomenon. Was recorded during several training sessions in mid-April 2013. Tour takes place from subsurface layers to the deepest layers. The maximum depth of the lake - 14 meters.
location of lake - Poland
Maximum depth of this lake - 14 meters
parts:
Bushes (depth 0 - 2 m)
Underwater meadows (depth 3 - 5 m)
Flooded forests (depth 6 - 12 m)
Rocks (depth 8 - 14 m)
This video is long. Viewed on Youtube page has time shortcuts to its parts / depths
