spearfishing Mallorca

hi everybody

im going to mallorca later this year
does anyone know what can be caught there and if i need a permit or if it is illegal to spearfish there
any input is welcome

2bh ive been in mallorca about a week now and ive dived about 10 cala's and they all seem to have sargo salpa the odd under sized bass and mullet, ive dived from 4 metres to 20 metres and it all seems the same here for sum reason, maybe its over fished and polluted or im doing sumthing wrong but im quiet disapointed 2bh compared to spain and portugal where the bass mullet grouper and octopus is plentyful but its all poco over here i just hope the weather settles so i can sail to sardinia in the next few days and have a scope there

Paddy, how was viz and watertemp in Mallorca??
I'm flying in this saturday, for two weeks. Will be on the NE side.
Not planning any spearing though, just training this time.

Will check when I'm there regarding spearing and permits,
and get back to you Lars, if you haven't already been there by now.

havent been there yet so any info is welcome (permits and prices)
booked a plane for friday the 8/10 and plan to stay for a week
will rent a car to be able to get a little around

hope to hear from someone who knows some hot spots

Paddy is wright about the fish size here, i have only seen 2 fish for 3 days that where big enough to shoot at a barracuda and one that i dont know the name of
the permit thing is a pain in the .... so far the only ones who seem to know anything about "permizzione de pesca marina" only talk spanish and i dont
but today i was sent to a shop where they have spearguns and i think they also do the permits but they where closed when i got there
i will have to try again tomorrow
