Anyone know any locations/got any info about spearing on the Isle of Wight?

I'm heading over there for a short camping trip with the family. Has anyone speared near Brighstone?

Hi gaz/bb, we stayed in a house close to brightstone. the beach was popular with anglers and what I saw of the reef looked interesting at low tide. We were only there for a long weekend and the stiff on shore breeze made sure there was zero vis! If you have a boat, hit the needles!

Hi,

Back. Not much opportunity (with family), but thought I'd report back for anyone going to the Brighstone area... From my limited experience, the SW coast appears to be regularly wind swept (the campsite reviews all say the site is windy so I'm guessing it's a pretty much constant wind) leading to very low viz....so had fun body surfing!

I got my gun wet for the very first time in St Helens but being the first time I spent more time detangling myself from the floatline and drinking seawater through my new snorkel (not keen on it) than actually trying to hunt! Didn't see a single fish but I'm not surprised...I was hardly Mr Apnea Stealth! Other than that, there was a reasonable current dragging me away from my rather concerned looking family. :D Now looking forward to a trip to Dorset this weekend (can't wait) .....where, no doubt, I shall complete all the moves necessary for a full "Fish Entertainment Show". :D :head
