Hey all,

Myself and another diver will be visiting Panama for 2 weeks, from April 3-April 17 for spearfishing. We are looking to hook up with locals or others in the area. (Staying in Chiriqui area, but willing to travel a bit if conditions/fish are good).

We are diving in Montuosa/Hannibal Banks/Morro Negrito from the 9-12th. However outside of that, were available. If your interested in spearfishing with us, PM me and we can work something out. Thanks all!

Thanks for the offer, I ended up getting your message after I booked a couple charters.

Trip went well. Was broken into 2 parts;

1 week in Playa Venao/Pedasi. Conditions were questionable, viz was bad, but we still nailed some decent pargo, trevally and jacks.

1 week at "all inclusive" spearfishing outfit called Hannibal Lodge. Beware of this company. They did not follow through on many of their commitments. After being promised freezing and vacuum sealing services as part of the package, our group discovered on the last day that all our catch was given to locals. We didn't take home any fish, and the guide simply told us that our fishes were not worth keeping (jacks, trevally, barracuda ect). This is one of many problems we had with these guys. Never again.

Hey man, those are some nice fish! Sucks about Hannibal Lodge I will have to spread the word. Next time try out the Caribe side. You might find the prices much lower and the people more friendly! Cheers

am not linked to Hannibal Lodge and am sorry if you were disappointed... it happens in Panama. Nevertheless, it is true that these fishes (jacks and barracudas mostly...) are not at all prized on the Pacific side.
