Spearfishing places near London

Hi guys,

Just came to UK and I am trying to find some information about spearfishing places near London.
I have never dived in the ocean and I want to know more about the conditions and fishes here.
Are there any threats in the ocean like sharks, poison fishish and so on ... ?
What is the regular underwater visibility ? What king of spearguns are you using ?

Any help is appretiated

im from croydon and im spearfishing in brighton under the pear.im newer trye to find any other good places for spearfishing becouse im spearing alone.

Hi my name is Jose, I am Spanish, I used to go speargunfishing in Spain (at beginner level) before I moved to UK. I would like to come back to the sport so I would like to meet other people living in West London area to make some trips to the beach this summer....
 
Hola Jose, Hi jbellendir. I too am looking for some London based folks to go out spearing with. I'm a new spearo. Been on only 2 dives but I've gotten a fish each time (small ones!). I'm an American like you JBell, based in West London for now. Either of you fancy going down to coast for a day next week? I've already done Brighton and didnt see much, so was looking to try someplace different.
 

I am heading to Porland tomorrow for a fishing session with some mates. we will stay camping overnight and will go kitesurfing on Sunday in Poole Harbour. The car is full but if you have your oun car you may fancy to pop in...

Porland is a good spot. you can dive in both sides of the island depending on weather conditions...
Is Brigton a good spot?
 
Hi guys, Im in fulham. looking to restart spearfishing as I was just doing it on holidays. Im going to try around Christchurch subject to weather on the bank holiday in two weeks and have ordered a dive skin wetsuit. I was thinking to get up early and try the christchurch harbour mouth and then hengistbury head on the saturday and maybe over by lulworth cove or similar on sunday depending on how hengistbury head goes. Its a bit subject to weather as well.
