A couple of weeks ago, we headed out for Blue Water Hunting, ( offshore spearfishing ),Puerto Rico Freedivers club members , Mike Pizarro, Jorge Rodriguez and me ,Roberto Reyes.
I had a call from some friends that the fishing was good at one of my spots, so we decided to head that way.
Once in the water it was kind of windy, but the water conditions were very
good, tipical tropical island weather, real clean blue water 100+ vis, and warm 80F.
As soon as we jump in the water there are like 40 wahoos all around the boat, all of them big, my mono is all tangled in my speargun, so i can not load it, and I see Jorge loading his gun, and diving down, waiting for one of them to come close, one does and he makes a perfect kill shot, I just love to see
another diver shooting a fish, it was all in such a slow motion, the fish barely moved, it got all the stripes in second, from a silver fish to a blue tiger, and an awesome shot.
We keep at it a few more times, a nice king mackeral comes along and we get it, plus a few other hoos, a nice day with awesome weather.

I go to the boat for my camera, and take a few shots while Jorge complains, we jump in the boat and get to the water again, this time I make sure my shooting line is ok.
This time Jorge drives the boat while Mike and I jump in, and again the wahoos are there, I make a nice shot to one of them, and get it, Mikes wahoo gives two strong runs and rips off, :-(.

nice catches and pictures, must have been a great day. Looks like Puerto Rico should be on the list of places to go to. Warm clear waters and tropical island weather sounds relly nice right now.

Those are no "wehoos" Robert! Really nice, there's nothing like the site of a bunch of striped torpedo silhouettes all around you in the blue stuff, maybe the site of a school of super sized YF's but hey its all good. zzz That's what the good dreams are made of! Wuu ahhh, how nice. Good shot too.

Maybe you prefer Derados, or Mehi Mehi?

Beautiful pics and great fish. Puerto Rico goes on my list. If you promise to take me out diving :)
Peace,

If you dont mind warm clear waters, you are on.

I've been known to put up with that occasionally :)

It would be an honour.
Peace,
Erik Y.
