spearfishing the south east summer 2011

Hi,were planning next years summervacation to wisit the inlaws in costal sussex. Since we will be travelling by car this time I figured bringing my kit would be a good idea.
Being a norwegian Im not that familliar with the seasonal changes of wiz and weather,when is the best time to go? Im not that used to diving in tidal currents,is there anywhere fairly "safe" in the Eastbourne-Brighton area?

It's the thread for the area that you will be wisiting and, although it isn't as busy as some of the other South Coast threads on Deeper Blue, there are some very helpful people there who might be able to point you in the direction of some excellent fishing (especially if you have got some secret information to swap with them about spearfishing in Norway!).

You'll be going to a good area, but local knowlwdge is essential in that part of the country - good luck,
