The start of the deer archery season caused me to think of the pro’s and con’s of hunting vs spearfishing. Although in reality bowhunting was my first love, I can honestly say think spearfishing has caught up with it. I thought you might like my attempt at humor in composing my

TOP TEN REASONS WHY SPEARFISHING IS BETTER THAN HUNTING:

10) I have yet to lose my spear.
9) Don’t have to get up at 5AM. Just sleep until noon and you are ready for “prime time”!
8) Don’t have to carry in a tree stand.
7) More public lakes than public hunting grounds.
6) No CWD in fish.
5) Don’t have to worry about drunken spearfisherman shooting you.
4) License is cheaper.
3) Hauling game is easier underwater.
2) Don’t have to worry about scent control

and .................. Number one...............

1) NO MOSQUITOES!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! rofl - That's Great! no mosquitos as long as you don't get OUT of the water.:t

Got to love it. I would have to agree with you Brian...I think spearfishing is taking over as #1...I am still going to go duck hunting though & deer. Oh well, keeps me occupied.

I was thinking about the Misquitos...& thought, "I wonder if anyone has ever put their suit on & had a bee land on it while they were putting it on...the bee ends up inside & wamo...:rcard I think I am going to be careful. With all the sweet smelling lube I put on, might attract them.

I can't make up my mind if I want to go to Sheboygan, to the Waupaca chain of lakes (haven't been there yet this year) or Lake Geneva with you guys...I do want to get into some carp, so I guess I am leaning towards Sheboygan.

I'll agree with that on the bow hunting....but I am still going to duck hunt this fall rather than spearfish. That was my first love and I am going to be true to it.

I certainly like spearfishing much better than hook and line fishing though!!
