A quick question: I have a Riffe MTII, its a great gun and I have had some success with it so far (hope to actually get pictures of something and post it). My question is: is it OK to put a clip on the gun? When I used it last, I had the gun in one hand, trying to do my hang (I was on SCUBA), the grouper I had on the stringer was still kicking around a bit, and all the other stuff you need to manage on the hang line. The MT II has a hole in the stock, just rear of the handle. Someone told me it was for a shock cord and float clip off. I was thinking of just tying a rope through it and putting a closed end clip so I could clip it off on my BC during the hang or any other time I needed both hands.

Any insight would be welcome. Thanks.

Yes, by all means!

Thread a line through that hole & clip away!
