First some background. Most of my spearing will be Hawaii, Florida and Wyoming. I am not looking to get in to Bluewater yet but eventually with experience and will get a specific gun for that. I will mostly be hunting reef. I am looking at rail guns for now. I have an idea for what I want for a woody. By the way I am between 6'1 and 6'2 depending on which convenience store I am leaving and between 220 and 230.

First question is there much difference between a 110 and a 120, which would be better?
Second if you were to choose two or three gun lengths to cover most conditions what would they be?

Hi & welcome to the forum, you might benefit from some further study regarding spearguns as there are so many variables!
For instance a 100cm gun with two bands could have more range than a 120 with one band but the longer the gun the more difficult to manoeuvre.
Generally speaking you would choose your gun based on size of fish and visibility but there is no 'one gun' for every occasion.
Popular sizes are 90cm - 120cm. even a single band 75cm will kill most reef fish if you can get close enough.
I would think a 110cm twin band gun would suit your needs.

A 110 or 120 are the popular choices for reef hunting in clear water. There is not a huge difference, but a shorter gun will be better when shooting into holes etc. My recommendation is for a 120 cm with a single wrap of line, a Hawaiian flopper shaft and two bands - a standard stock set up for our guns.

I think you are wise to be considering two guns, rather than contemplating one gun that will do everything - and consequently, nothing well.

If your hunting will be concentrated on shooting in holes or in visibility of 10 - 15 to maybe 18 feet, then a 90 cm railgun would be a popular choice. If the visibility is less than that in your lakes, then a shorter gun would be advantageous. (We stock a full range of sizes).

If you select two guns of similar design, then transitioning back and forth between two different gun sizes should be pretty easy.
