Spearing in the mediterranean tips.

Hey guys,
I'm a new spearo here in the med and I'm really having trouble finding any decent fish at all! I've been out now about 10 times and only managed to get one decent sized grouper other than that I haven't found anything worth shooting!

Does anyone have any tips on where to fish, like what's it like fishing in the deep blue water ?

I can comfortably hang around at about 20 odd metres.

I've just return from 8 wanderful days in Sithonia: freecamping, spearfishing, good weather...girls...
In front of my camping site there was constantly one or two fishing nets in the water: all day, all night. So, kinda hard with decent size fish!

Try going in at different times, i find its best really early in the morning and just before sunset. Also adapt your technique, fish here are really scared and skittish. If you are ambushing along the shore in shallower water, try to have the sun behind you.

Very skittish fish in the med...

- Swim with sun behind you
- Against current
- Be silent and smooth
- Dont expect to see nice fish from the surface

With your apnea capability you should be landing dentex in no time...
