Yep and I'm after help, I'm down in North Cornwall this weekend and any help with any marks or areas, tides and times ?? I am staying near Polzeath!!

Also keen to do a free diving course , breath techniques etc to help with my spearfishing , not looking to do it this weekend but sometime soon this summer ?? any recommendations?

any help much appreciated

cheers Bruce

Hi Bruce, welcome. I haven't speared there but I am familiar with the area - top surfing area (& sea cliff rock climbing nearby too). You'll likely need to spear when the surf is not up - so they could be complimentary activities (that right SurfNSpear?). Lots of interesting little bays around there - including either side of Polzeath itself I expect. Take a look at the on-line maps (e.g. googlemaps/bingmaps), including the Arial/Satellite images. Explore, that's half the fun.

Might be worth taking a look at one or more of these: Port Quin, Port Gavern (just north of Port Isaac), Port Isaac (v. narrow streets), Trebarwith Strand (not when surf us up - be careful, strong currents), Tintagel (busy tourist centre these days).

In general, the north coast has excellent surfing but that is at least partly because it is exposed to the elements. Beware of strong currents & the large tidal range.
