I'm going to be out on the Island over Christmass and want to take the opportuinity to get back into it. I'll be in Courtney Comox for the most part. Looking for any and all suggestions.

Thanks guys.

I'll be spending my Xmas in a tent somewhere on the island, diving and raising a ruckas. sure we can meet up for a dive & a pint!

When I read the title of this thread, 'Spearing Vancouver Island', my first mental response was, 'No, Vancouver Island is much too large to be speared....' The earth is cold and hard, you wouldn't get much penetration, and even if you did, how would you reel it in?

And how to filet it?

Wow, thanks guys! I now know i need an industrial strength reel, a couple hot air balloons as floats, and a beer for willer.

Heh, at least with all the home grown on the island it's pre-seasoned...
