Does any 1 have this wetsuit? If any one 1 does do you think that it will be a good choice for florida waters. any comments on the wetsuit will trully be helpfull ! thx! :inlove spetton equipment rocks!

armandozx,

I have these and they are great suits, but at this time it is only available in 5mm which is much too warm for our south florida waters. Pablo at Spetton USA did mention to me that a 3mm version will come out in the near future.

:)

jimdoe2you . Hey thanks for the reply actually there's a website that has them 3mm i know and a smaller size bearing from 1 - 6 i believe so yeah also the price is much cheaper. SUBPROF.COM | Apnea , Scuba, Snorkeling, Swimming, Nautical online Shop check it out if you want. As far as the wetsuit Does it fit you well do you like it how does it look/feel underwater? are you visible or do you blend in well with your surroundings?

I've been looking at that series of wetsuits too (there are a couple different color schemes at Subprof). Any input on warmth, toughness, and overall fit would be great. I'm pretty skinny for my height (5'11'', 150lbs), so hard to find suits that fit well.

As an aside, I recently bought a cheap camo wetsuit on ebay that I'm pretty happy with so far. It's closed cell and has no chest pad or hood (basically a standard 3.5mm scuba suit), but a VERY nice brown/green camo pattern. It's a 3.5mm Nemo Spearmen wetsuit. Got it brand new for $100 (I think will retail for about $200 or so when they go on the market). Great cheap backup wetsuit that's tough (lined closed cell neoprene). I can send pictures of the camo print if anyone is interested. The camo pattern would be awesome on a good quality spearo suit.

yeah I know how you feel when it comes to a good fit ! this suit is $324 here in the use size 3, however in that site it comes out to $168+62 with delivery to the US. That's a $94 difference now I know a couple of things I can get with the extra money! I'm pretty much set on that option now the big 1 FINS!!! I know It's such a hard topic but for now I'm stuck with my garas 2000 ^_^

Yup, fit is a big problem, but thankfully the waters off Florida don't get that cold. The new prototype Nemo wetsuit I got fits like a glove though. I think the Spetton size 3 (Medium Long) is the way to go for my body type. I actually think I might go for the Spetton Black Mimetic (right below the digital blue wetsuit on the Subprof.com website). It's the same price as the digital, and seems like it might be a little more versatile color for reef/bottom stalking (not just blue water).

Regarding fins...yeah, where to even start. I'm using Omer Millennium Ice fins. Been tempted to try some carbons, but I'm not diving that deep nor do I consider myself an expert, so I've wondered how beneficial they would be (for the lofty price anyway). Need to win the damn lottery (need to start playing the lottery) or start selling drugs or something rofl

I know what you mean bro size seems to be the key to all of this, The wetsuit looks like it's made for blue water hunting, however they specify on their website that it can be ideally use for in/off shore. The majority of the water I dive in it's like teal you know, that light green/blue water actually the best cammo wetsuit I seen that resembles this colors are the omer's ocean and dahlak ( or something like that ) and a beachat 1 that's like green which i fell in love with but i cant have it because of size issue. Spetton Digital blue in the other hand in my opinion would be better in price vs omer & i also heard that omer looses it's color (not completely of course) after a couple of wears!

In regards to the black mimetic idk man dont you think It will be like wearing a shirt and shorts i mean I seen alot of people with black wetsuit but i dont see how they really blend in with their environment but hey that's just my .02 you know things are made for diff people likings!

Fins ! let's just say that I have almost read every topic here on the forums about them, hey man you dont have to be a pro to have nice things but you can become pro like with/without them more with than without i hope! But i cannot put aside the terrible pain i get from my gara's after a day of spearfishing man it's freaky hard not to look somewhere else. No carbon fiber because im not a freediver but fiberglass is where it's at! You're fins haven't broken? i heard some people with you fins and they have snaped, etc. in subprof.com they have C4's VTR man there like $206 with blade angle i believe! that's kinda of a good price ! there's a guy that i know that sells fiberglass blades for $135 they look good but no angle to them so I dont want to go that way he claims that they dont bother when he swims in the surface but hey idk. ( I know what you mean bro money is hard to come by )

Im sure you can afford used carbon fins. They will cost about as much as Omer Ice and perform way better. Once you try a good quality carbon fin, you wont go back. My friend picked up some used Omer Rekords III for 150.00 shipped. Those are waay better than Icefins. You just have to be careful handling them in the boat, car, and using them. Dont push off the bottom with them. Other than that, they wont break.

Armand,

I know I hate that. Many of the camo wetsuits I really like don't seem like they would fit me...I really like the brown Effesub too.

The Spetton black that I was talking about is not actually black, it's a darker camo pattern. I think it's called black. It's the one directly below the ocean digital, on the Subprof website. Just go to the website, click on camo wetsuits, and look at the spetton suit directly below the ocean digital. That's the one I was talking about. I almost got the Omer Dalhak, but decided to get a thicker one that might offer a little more temperature versatility...

Re: fins. I haven't used the Omer Ice fins much. They have not broken, but I believe Omer has fixed the breaking problem (from what I've read anyway). I was told by the Omer rep that they are better than the Omer bats, which is why I got those. I do plan to eventually go for carbons, I just don't get out often enough to warrant the expense at the moment. I got the Ice fins thinking that with the footpockets I can always switch out the blades in the future...

Hey Greekdiver,

That was quite a statement indeed :). I'm just a poor biologist who's gone back to school, so money can be really hard to come by at times. But I do understand what you mean, and I agree that eventually carbon blades will be a worthwhile investment. I'll get there eventually...

What part of Greece you from? I grew up in Dionyssos, northern suburb of Athens. Came to the U.S. for school about 11 years ago, and haven't left yet.

Kefalonia. Thats where my family is from. I live in Miami, Florida now and i love it. You are welcome to dive with me in Florida :)

I was just saying a pair of new omer ice fins cost as much as a used pair of quality carbon blades. You just have to look for the deals but they are out there. Ive seen people go through divorces and have to get rid of all their stuff and practically give all their equipment away. If you look on spearboard or spearfishingplanet on the member items section, you can find good deals. Btw i have the omer icefins. I keep them in my bag as a backup fin. They are super heavy compared to carbon fins. They do the job though.

And if you want any Spetton stuff, my friend Pablo sells Spetton 954-907-3055. He is out of Miami, Florida too. I purchase stuff from Jim too. He is out of naples and ships super fast and very fair prices!

That is some statement dude!

My god your rep power is much more than the last time ive talked to you on deeperblue!!

How you been Fox? Still mambatizing fish? rofl I got my asso mamba up to 28 BAR. It fires super super hard but i think its not so accurate at that pressure. I bet it could pass 2 AJs if they were lined up correctly. I put it back down to 25 and it fires more smooth, accurate and less recoil.

Kefalonia, NICE. You ever been back to the country? Awesome place. The water is unreal (but not as many fish as there are in FL)...:(

I appreciate the offer on Spetton equipment. I may very well give Pablo a call soon to find out what his prices are like. Even more I REALLY appreciate the offer to dive together. My only dive buddy now lives in Key Largo (and occasionally Miami) but he's about as busy as I am so hard to coordinate. I will def get in touch with you if I have any free time coming up!

Re: omer fins, I hear you. Problem is, I already own the ice fins so not much I can do about that. I absolutely understand what you're saying though, so I'll keep my eyes open for any good deals.

Ebay had three nice new guns (1 carbon RA, 1 alum RA, 1 rabitech apex carbon) for dirt cheap all week ($120). Last night about 20 minutes before bidding ended, suckers worked up the bid to $270. What are people thinking not waiting 'till the bidding is almost over...you just end up paying more if you win... Sucks, thought I had a nice deal on a third gun...
