Hey all

Does anyone have any good advice on how to fit the C4 blades [they are Falcon 80's] into the Spetton pockets and to secure them?

TIA

Mike

Ask Asturven on this forum as he deals with C4 and Spetton I believe. Personally I would use marine grade epoxy to 'glue' the blades into the slots and footpocket and if the footpockets have screw holes then use those too.

Mikey,

You have two options, use the screws to secure the blade or like Spaniard said, use epoxy to fix them.

I personally prefer to use the epoxy and 3M 5200 or similar will do the work perfectly. it comes in black so you will not have any problem.

Hey all

Thanks for all your advice - I think I'll go the epoxy route.
Does anyone have a good way of getting the sides of the blade into the pockets without damaging the blade itself? I can see that the lip on the rubber section on the blade can fit into the pocket arms, but I am not sure of how to actually get it in there in the first place :head

get the base of the blade in place in the footpocket (I would also fit the screws as the falcons are already drilled) then bend the side rails of the footpocket back on themselves so that the slit opens up and push them onto the blades starting at the bottom and sort of zip them into place. You may find a bit of lube helps (ooh er missus)

Hi Dave

Thanks for the advice. I managed to get them in without damaging the blades in any way. I did notice though that with the blades fully in [so that the hooks in the edge of the blades "hook" into the pocket arms], the holes do not line up properly - way out in fact. Anyone else experienced this? I did think about re-drilling them but am worried about weakening that section, and possible fractures appearing as a result. Although I am going to use the epoxy, I'd also like to use the screws [with soft washers] for double peace-of-mind.

Dave, can you recommend any epoxy that we have here in the UK? Not sure if the 3M 5200 is available over here.

Mike
