Anybody here have 1st hand experience with Spierre Fins? Carbon or fiberglass? Im planning to get a custom fiberglass fins. Any input will be much appreciated whether from products or service.:friday

Thanks a lot!!!

I've just ordered the Pure Carbon with 82 cm length blade and he agreed to put some text on it to personalized my fins. Its goin to be fitted with an Omer footpocket. Not sure what will be the total lenght of the fin with the footpocket thou. Since nobody has experienced with it, i guess i'll be the first one to put a review on it here in DB. It is being used by the South African Spearo Team especially the controversial Jaco which was supposed to be overall 2nd place in the recent world spearo contest. So far everything is ok and i am getting good response from Pierre even thou i'm not a well experienced or pro-diver. The fins will arrive approx within 20 days so till then folks.

He's supplying only rob allen and omer foot pocket. Foot pockets are not available here in UAE. Pathos is available but i have no clue how to effectively mount the blades on it hehehe. Thanks for your reply.

Hey, USA distributor for Spierre Fins here. :)

The fins are AWESOME!!!!!!

I got to use them twice this week - the Fiberglass Ocean Camou in medium stiffness has better propulsion than my Specialfins Hybrid Professionals which as you know are amazing fins as well... VERY VERY pleased!!! The Camouflage design is the BEST I've seen, and comparing to a couple higher end blades, the blades seem more indestructible, (thicker), and cleaner work on the rails...Very pleased with the result. The Reef camouflage is very popular here, so is the Kelp Camou in California.

Had a nice dinner following the use of the fins for diving!

"Attached are pics taken during scouting in Venezuela - sent to me by Gyula, South Africa's National team captain. Apparently the various teams at Worlds tested each other’s equipment and according to Gyula our Spierre Pure Carbon blades came out tops above the other brands. Our whole team ended up returning to SA minus their fins after selling them to the other competitors.

Speak soon,

Pierre"

Spierre fins are really great - and he makes great mono blades too. If you have the option, try get a custom flex from Spierre for you bi-fins - hard or soft depending on what you want. I've tried the fibreglass ones too, and they also are very good. I think I'd just pick the carbon ones cos they look pro! Either way, the manufacturing is excellent.

hudasmt, how much did you pay for your fins? I have Omer Ices, but am looking to get carbons.

I've just received the fins yesterday. It looks awesome and very lightweight. :) The blades is having different thickness from the heel part up to the edge. The edge of course is the thin part. It comes separate with the footpockets.

I have a question thou, this is my first time to mount a footpocket, an omer millenium that is, do i need to put glue on it or just leave it to the screws and the clips?

Cheers

Hi Elvis,

Glue the fins on 5 points with cyanoacrylate glue(superglue), available on the internet for next to nothing. Acetone is what you need to remove it in case of any cock ups.

The spots to glue are at the very ends of the sides of the foot pockets, ahere the heel plate meets the footpocket and 1 point half way between the foot pocket and the end of sides.

Enjoy.

Hey there,

I'll be heading to cape town in about two weeks and am thinking of maybe getting a pair of carbon blades from spierre.
does anybody know if they fit into pathos fireblade foot pockets?

@hudasmt:
are you still happy with your fins?
it's been a while since you got them and maybe you could say something concerning the durability.

ahoy

You would have to ask Pierre, you can email him at info@spierre.com.
I know he can adapt the fins to fit almost anyfootpocket as they are custom made. You will need a picture with dimentions of the pathos fireblade fin.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Fabio
I use the fibreglass and the pure carbons, both with Pathos footpockets. They work very well.
Regards
Kevin

I also have spierre custom blades and pathos footpockest. I must admit that I like them very much.
