anyone have any experience with the sporasub spartak mask? My local dive shop has a pair that he ordered for someone who declined to purchase. Looks like a good backup mask.

cjndiver,

I have the Spartak mask (among others). It is not very low volume (relative to other freediving masks) but it does offer great visibility. I use it for shallower dives and in the pool. Works fine, without a hood (see below).

I just got the Cressi Big Eyes, which seems to be similar in volume. The difference is that the Big Eyes is longer vertically while the Spartak is wider horizontally.

I am not sure if you wear a hood when diving, but the wide Spartak makes it more difficult to seal under the hood than some of the other masks I have.
