Does anyone know of a source of reproduction (or original if they last that long) rubber butt pads for spring guns? I have a Cressi-Sub "Saetta A Extra" ("Extra" indicates a blue anodized barrel tube instead of the usual clear finish or silvery tube; "A" means the 1.20 meter length barrel). The original rubber butt pad, which carries a passive line release finger, has reverted, which means that the rubber has cracked, distorted and gone kind of gooey in terms of losing its shape, but is brittle at the same time. The rubber is a reddish-brown color, but I am sure that they were also available in black rubber. Otherwise the gun is in perfect condition, having originally been owned by the late Jack Hoy, a zoologist and animal collector I was told, but I have not looked him up on Google. He cannot have used it very much as the gun is clean as a whistle and only one spear tip, the very extreme point of the spearhead, is missing, having probably encountered a rock on one of his few hunting dives with the gun.
