Dear All,

I am refferring to the quote no. 75, 2nd paragraph, dated May 2007 that was posted by Diveoceanos, quoting :" One of the other team mates has an honourship plate in his office by AIDA for the help he provided for the establishment of this organisation in Cyprus", and I would like to inform you the following:

As the President of AIDA CYPRUS Board, I would like to state officialy that, we have never awarded an honourship plate to anyone regarding "assistance provided" for the establishment of AIDA CYPRUS.

I would also like to point out that the establishment of the club was a team effort from several people and none of them seems to know for which person diveoceanos is refferring to.

We felt that we had to react to such a statement in order to prevent and protect other people from drawing any conclusions that emerge from missleading information.

Further, we understand that anyone has the right to express personal opinions as well as to conduct criticism, but does not have the right to use false and missleading facts that can lead to wrong conclusions, like diveoceanos did.

We kindly ask diveoceanos and any other person that has any inquiries regarding AIDA CYPRUS to get intouch with the Board and we will be more than happy to assist you or provide you with any information that can be of use to you.

Furthermore, I would like to take this opportunity and inform the Freedivind World that AIDA CYPRUS is organising the APNEA DEPTH GAMES 2007 (Disciplines: CWT, FIM, CNF), which will be held on the weekend 6th-7th of October, 2007 in Limassol Cyprus.
For more Information you can contact the e-mail below.

On behalf of AIDA CYPRUS

Thanks for the information, Savva. As for the Apnea Depth Games, did you consider adding them to the list of competitions at FreediveCentral? The competition will get greater exposure, and it facilitates the registration to any of the freedivers already subscribed at FreediveCentral (over 600).

I am sorry to bring this old issue up again, but it is just some minutes that I came across this post.

I never state that AIDA Cyprus awarded anyone in Cyprus for the assistance he provided to establish this organisation in Cyprus. I just wrote that a team mate that I would like to add that he is a very well known person to all Cypriots, not excluding Savvas, has this plate indeed in his office.

What if I provide proof of the validity of my statement? Will the president of AIDA Cyprus apologize for characterising my statement as a misleading and false one?

Dear Savvas, I would like to ask you the following: Does the name Giorgos Pavlides means anything to you? Shall I post a picture of this plate, here in this forum?

Geez, you people, find it so easy to publish an official position statement and attack other people's integrity. You could have phone me before you decide how to criticize my statements. I bet you know my phone and you know who I am.

Sorry, again for replying so late.

Hey Trux,

I never meant that I have the intention to establish a "Sotos" free diving school. I was searching the system and I was trying to get the picture by communicating with people from different places of the world and from different posts.

However given this oportunity and just because you asked, I would like to inform you that individuals who was originaly involved in the general idea that I was partially presented here in the forum with scattered posts are now indeed certified as F/D Instructors. I am happy to see them implement what they were planning and I am also honoured to be named as their friend and as someone who just admire their work and their contribution to the sport. I am also quite confident that as a team they will be an added value to the education and the communication of the correct messages among freedivers in general and to those resident in my country Cyprus more specifically!

My field is SCUBA diving and all its variations, which I am sticked to, for a long time now. I have no interest in becoming a FD Instructor myself nor I have the inspiration of inventing the wheel. Any wheel.

Cheers!
