static apnea?

being new to free diving i have a question.what is a static breath?

Welcome aquadog.

Static breath is what you have the morning after a night of imbibing pints of brew and eating salted, cured meats .

Static Apnea is breath-holding while remaining motionless. It is usually done in a swimming pool (with a spotter to prevent unwanted death). Basically, the goal of the static apneist is to hold his/her breath as long as possible. To do this, you want to be holding still .
