Static breath holding, at least on land, is very quick and simple, but can get quite mind-boggling. I haven't been training for years,but I have techniques that help a lot!
--- I think holding your breath while running is the hardest and maybe the quickest results. First you need to get a stop watch, some place that is long enough for a quick sprints, and your will power. hold your breath and then start the stop watch, run as fast as you can! keep on going.. this will take power and when you start to feel like it's harder for you to run keep on going untill you feel like you can go no more. you will be breathing very hevly for awhile,but it should go away in seconds. Oh yeah, don't forget to stop your watch :duh then find out how much you ran and how quickly.. try that again in a few minutes and DO IT AGAIN. try not to go farther, but run quicker...when you feel like you are reaching that point where it is getting harder go more! well don't get too far... like samba/BO. just keep on doing that.. only 4-5 times a day because trust me it is very hard.
--- Walking while holding your breath and counting the paces. simple,right? could be ^_^;; hold your breath and count the paces...10..30..60..80..110.. and then stop(that's how much i started with.. you may want to do less?) then get one minute waiting period.. A.K.A brake time rofl. then go again... 10..30..60..80..110.. do that 6-10 times or so and call it quits. incresse the number of steps each day( i did 110 and then 210 steps),but time doesn't matter. (if you find this at 60%-80% of max breath hold..then it will kick in ;-).
--- Push-ups while holding your breath. haven't personally used this before,but a buddy told me it works/helps a little. it also makes you buff!
**whenever you are either runing or walking don't push yourself too much! have a buddy your first time, and PUMP YOUR ARMS AND LEGS(maximume C02 usege)
*** i would suggest you either walk/run once a day since it takes a lot of you,but i suppose if you do one in the moring and one in the afternoon it will be okay
