well i just finished my AIDA judges course and am getting my kit together so i need some advise on a couple of good water resistant stop watches for timing statics and the other disciplins.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

what are the other Judges on here using and are you happy?

Mate the only ones i've seen in Oz so far are a couple of types in Rebel Sport, none of which jumped out at me. They had water resistance but nothing like the spiffo ones Grant had. In the past i've used ones that weren't water resistant but kept them out of the water, not really ideal as I want in-water ones. I'll keep hunting around and let you know if I see any decent ones.

Cheers,
Ben

Hi DD,

I use 3 SEIKO S-140 (S-141) and they are "state of art" Chronographs.

This watch is used by a majority of all elit swimtrainers in the world and is water resistant to 10 bar (if you don't push the bottons down there). I had it down to 35m, full working without problem(!)

Second step is CASIO HS-70W and HS50W-1DF, both very good as well and water resistant to 50m.

Third step is any other SEIKO that is water resistant, ex Seiko S051 (Seiko S056) and S053.

It wort spending some money on a real thing, I had my SEIKO's for 12-13 years now and they are still like new.

/B

ps. you find them on eB** for low money ....!

If you´re looking for a real stopwatch, take a look at the Silva Coach. It´s a classical stopwatch. It´s water resistant down to 30 m.

yep looking for a real stopwatch for timing events (static apnea etc, service protocol, countdown to official Top etc), will check them out Silva hs always been a reputable brand. thanks for that.
