“Stopping at contractions…”

I keep seeing references to stopping your breath holds when you start to feel contractions during training. Can someone explain to me where this idea comes from and why it could more beneficial than enduring and adapting to them?

Seems to me that the answer is obvious. It's safer to come up sooner rather than later. It may not win you any competitions but it might save your life.

My apologies. I was referring to dry training. I’ve read your posts before and I do understand that you don’t see much point in pushing limits.
