Strange fish from 1000m below with mirrors in its eyes

I thought people here might be interested in this story.

A live specimen of a spookfish was caught between New Zealand and Samoa last year. The researcher discovered that each eye is split into two connected parts. One half points upwards and gives the spookfish a view of the ocean above. The other with the aid of a curved mirror points downwards into the abyss below.

That’s one neat fish.
Bit like my one of my old teachers from school, no matter which way you thought he was looking he could always hit you in the chest with the blackboard rubber.
