Has anyone left a well shot fish on the shooting line and reloaded their gun? My brother explained that he used this technique and when the sitting on the bottom, other fish would come in close to check out the dead fish, at which point they too would become a dead fish.

Haven't done it myself but they showed the same thing on the ITM fishing show in NZ the other week.

He shot something like a wrasse or hand sized fish and all the kingfish were going nuts trying to eat it straight off the spear!
