Stuck in humboldt

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

im in Humboldt for a while and dont know a thing about diving around here.
any info on the area would be great.
 
I lived in humboldt for a long time and I wish I was stuck in Humboldt. The best diving is north of Trinidad. Patricks point is good. South of Patrick's Point also. Check out caliorniacoastline.org great website showing a streaming view of the entire california coast. Scotty Point is a very good spot. Generally there are fewer abs than mendo, sonoma or marin but big abs you will find. You will find that most of them are in shallow water. There are lots of lings and cabezone and blacks. Also scallops - south of trinidad head is good for those. Off topic - Good mushroom hunting starts in august and goes through december. Have fun in humboldt!
