Hi! Im after a new speargun for the summer, my current one is pathetically un-powerful and quite innacurate. In my first summer last year i bagged some Pollack and a couple of small Bass but this summer i really would like to catch a BIG Bass!
So, can you please give me your opinions/suggestions based on my requirements, Thanks.
1) Ive got around £120 to spend but could go more for the right one.
2) Quite powerful, say 18mm bands. (dont want a pneumatic)
3) Accurate, so id like one with a guide rail and articulated wishbone.
4) Id also like one with reel included.
5) Above all, good quality, no matter how much i clean my current one after use it still corrodes and the trigger still sticks etc.
6) All my fishing is off the Cornish coast, U.K. in reefs, rocks, seaweed, kelp etc, fairly shallow with medium vis so im thinking around 75-85mm in size??

Thanks in advance everyone. Dan

I am no expert but I have been using a mares phantom fv 75cm. They are reasonably priced and good quality. I have Not had a problem with mine in the twelve months I have owned it, it's been a great starter gun for me and it performs perfectly well in my opinion but that's based on my own experiences.

After alot of research ive just bought an Omer cayman camu 75cm. Only arrived yesterday so havent taken it out yet but the build quality is excellent, bands seem full of power and im pleased with it so far, lets see how she is in the water!!! i'll keep you posted....Cant wait!

Good choice! :)
For that money its superb ;)

I'll agree with that - Omer build quality, in my experience, is very good for the money.

If I was on a budget, the Cayman Camu is the exact gun I'd get! Good choice! ;)

A nice speargun would be a Beuchat Mundial. You can buy a reel with it and set it up. Nice versatile speargun.

The Rob Allen Scorpia 90cm is beast and cost £110!!

Also guys please check out my new website instinctspearfishing.com and tell me what you think :)
