Hey guys,
I was just wondering if any of you can feel your heartbeat when sedentary? Mine is so strong it can be felt from my chest to my arms to my fingers, legs, toes, etc. Really a weird feeling. Sometimes it can be seen pulsing through my body, or in the brachial artery under my bicep. After packing my heart can clearly be seen beating just under my sternum (cool party trick. :D). Anyone know if this is a symptom of freediving, athleticism, or even heart disease?

I am a 19 year old male, and I am in excellent shape, I eat well, and have no history of heart disease. I stay very active, mostly anarobic activity, at least 3 times a week, with relatively normal blood pressure (120/90).

Any theories are welcome. I am not seriously concerned, mainly just curious.

Anyone?

Sometimes happens when I pack too much/too fast (it's a really horrible feeling. Your pulse drops to like 30 and it feels like your heart is trying to dig it's way out of your chest), but I think you're talking about a different thing...

I have the same thing, my wife says she can feel my whole chest mooving
and it sounds like a bass drum.
It was more obviouse when i was around 17- 25 i was very lean and played waterpolo swam heaps, you could see my sternum and upper abbs beat/move.
Mine dosent sound like its a loud as yours, i never felt it in my finger tips, but it has quitened down a bit as i have got older, due to a few layers of fat.
I have recently had my heart looked at there is a family history of heart problems and got the 100% all clear.
I wouldnt strees over it I never really did, but a quick trip to the Doctor will put your mind at ease if it worries you.
