I think I figured out what happened to my PMs. It must be supporter renewal time and my credit card number has changed. Now that miserable excretion of a paypal won't let me just pay the damn thing with a card, nor will they let me find out what they think is my password to my paypal account (which I don't have) . Please Papa Smurf, find some other way to get paid. I really would like to send you money.

Chaps - give me a short while to figure out the options as PayPal is our primary method of payment for Supporters.
Sorry could not wait, had to have my DB fix. After several hours of trying, just to see how high my blood pressure could get (high enough to scare my doctor and cost me some blood pressure medicine), I called in my computer literate wife for several round-d-rounds with paypal. After she got frustrated, I called in my very computer skilled son. He figured it out, after a lot of trying. I'm back on, halleluha!
IMHO paypal is run by computer geek aliens who don't speak human or maybe just like to torture normal human beings. Their site is ridiculously anal retentive, clunky and hard to navigate and I will NEVER willingly do business though them EVER!.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Papa Smurf, find another way. I'll be happy to pay extra if needed. These assholes don't deserve your business.

Hmm, I do not really understand, why would be using Paypal more difficult than using a CC. All you need to do when paying with Paypal is entering your password, while when paying with a CC, you have to enter the name, number, expiry, and the CVC code. And it is of course much safer than paying with a CC. When you pay with a CC, you never know what happens with the data you submit. Many vendors are stupid enough to store the CC data on their server which are very far to be safe from being impenetrable. You can trust me, security of ecommerce is my profession.
So if someone gets into the server of the vendor (which is often rather easy), he can charge your card without any hassle. That won't happen if you pay with Paypal.
And there are other advantages of Paypal - not only lesser fees, but it is much simpler to create a merchant account, the sales and purchases are insured, etc, etc. For most small businesses it is the easiest and the most affordable payment solution. And personally I believe that paying by Paypal is very easy (definitely simpler and faster than with a CC), and rather user-friendly, so the comments of both of you rather surprise me. Well, perhaps you are speaking about creating the Paypal account, and not about the actual paying. Well, yes, the creation of an account takes a few more steps, but you need to do it only once in your life. Once done, you then pay with a single click (unlike at CC payments), or in case of recurring charges, it is completely automated (if you chose so).
I don't see any problems with Paypal either. One of my dive buddies is often short of cash to pay for his share of gas when we get back from a trip, so he drives home and pays me through Paypal. It works fine.

I just find the process unfriendly and difficult to navigate at times. PPal seems to be unable to keep my default paying account straight, and I get charged out of accounts I don't want.
And a client of mine was jailed for computer fraud- he showed me how easy he could access PPal's server. Not that I worry about these things.

Paypal is not unlike a lot of computer applications. If you do everything exactly the way they want you too, all works fine. The problem comes to the non computer savy when something out of the ordinary happens and they can't figure out what the computer wants them to do. Paypal is pretty bad on that score.
