Suunto D3 Closeouts at West Marine in USA

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
No body ever told me I need to register my mosquito for it to have warranty...
Am I waiting for a bad surprise the day it fails?

I dont know about the rest of the world, but in the UK, Suuntos warrenty service is outstanding. I have had 3 D3s replaced so far, no registration, no receipt, i even admitted putting non suunto batteries in them, all replaced by return of post

Overnight email from Finland basically said warranty is from the date of purchase and that because my watch is older I will need keep a copy of the purchase receipt to prove the date. Edit- I was also able to complete the registration online.

Warranty registration is not required in USA (by law) but may be in other countries. It's still a good idea because they can contact you regarding any recalls or updates (like the current D9 recall).

So I'm happy now. Going to try it out tomorrow in the Pacific.

I'm about to test that service, have to send mine back because of incredibly strange readings on it's first ocean adventure (dives of 147m in 3 seconds at -87c deg temps :duh )

Dave - anything in particular I should/shouldn't mention on my cover letter to them? I have the receipt and the retailer told me to send in a copy of the receipt, not the original.

Cheers,
Ben
