Hello all!
I am looking for the real difference between the two computers for free diving(I know the moskito has scuba diving fetures).

Many thanks.

Other than the scuba fetures, think the only other real difference is the sampling rate for freediving;

Moskito is 2sec
D3 1Sec

I can't remember if there is any difference in the size of the memory!

If you are only going to freedive, don't bother paying an extra 100 dollars or so for the mosquito. D3 still has gauge mode to use as bottom timer/depth if you end up doing some scuba anyway. The D3 also can come in a comfort neoprene strap.

Is it importent the difference between the sampling rate?
(The reason I am asking is because I can get the moskito in a very good price).

I don't fully understand the sampling rate - correct me if I am wrong someone. Though I think it only matters for the log of the dive in the memory and for the profile when downloaded. As far as reading the computer at any moment in time it will read the exact depth you are at, just like a scale tells you how much weight is on it all the time. But it is either recording into memory every 1s for the D3 or 2s for the Mosquito. For me this wouldn't be a big deal, considering if you have a good price on the Mosquito. If you are a competative freediver and want the most precise recording and profile of your dives then this feature would be of use.

The D3 has a count down timer (or up). Very nice feature for competition and maybe some other use too.
