Suunto D4 or Cressi Edy?

Which is the better choose between these two scuba-diving and free-diving computer-watches? What's your opinion? :martial

if you like scratches get the D2, I have an EDY and slammed it on the corals yesterday stalking a Giant trevally and the Chrystal display is still without a scratch, which means the face is harder than the coral!! Like the D2 you can have a watch place replace the battery even though the manual stresses a certified pressure test, Cressi doesnt do it, and they endorse a standard watch battery replacement. Good luck with your choice.

I have been using my EDY for 1.7 years (warranty is about to expire and I am not worried at all), broke a strap that was replaced by a local shop from their rental supply, and I carelessly scrape it on corals (even though I try not to) twice a week and I can't complain about its Freedive performance, this thing is a little tank! and the PC upload kit (separate purchase) is nice to use and analyze! I am a happy customer.

I have an Edy and it's great, very durable, easy to replace battery and it can do pretty much anything you will need for freediving and scuba as well if you like that sort of thing.

I can also strongly recommend the Mares Nemo, I've had one for a year now and it's a great watch.

I have the D4 and talked a few others at work into buying them. We all enjoy them and wear them full time. Love checking the water temp in the lineup surfing and still be able to freedive without changing out!

The Eddy is pretty good - nice sample rate, robust, pretty intuitive to use etc. Couple of minor complaints - the way it stops tracking depth when the alarm goes off, no stop-watch for statics etc, and very basic download capability from the pc kit from what Mullins tells me.

Those are very minor gripes though, overall a very nice package.
