Suunto Dive Manager/Movescount

Recently got hold of a datacable for my D4 wanting to have a bit closer look at my dive profiles to review my ascent/descent rates and generally see if they look OK.

After a reasonable amount of trial and error I managed to get DM4 loaded (site offline the first few times I tried).

Software seems a bit underwhelming (or maybe I'm not understanding how it works) and for some reason I cannot retrieve or change my password to My Suunto so cannot ask Suunto.

I'm hoping someone on DB could advise me on the following:

1. Export data eg to Excel
2. Download more than the last 1month/162 dives
3. Change the time scale on the plots from minutes to seconds.

you can export data to *.xml (and to excel) from File - export - XML - selected dive.

Thanks for responding to my email.

I have generated the xml files but the file does not seem to be delineated in any way that I can import into excel.

Any suggestions on how to download the full set of dives from my D4 (currently limited to last month only).

So I generated some .xml files from the DM4 file and imported to Excel, however the depth/time and temperature/time files appear to be undecipherable. They are called 'Profile Blob' and 'Temperature Blob' and I don't seem to be able to do a damn thing with them.

Am I trying to do the impossible? If so could someone recommend an alternate dive software?

I have a genuine copy of the Suunto s/w on a disc. It isn't that great for freedivers TBH. I can post it to you if you want to try it against your downloaded version?

Hi Phil and the rest of the community,

According to my research there is an overwhelming majority dissatisfied with DM4. You car read it all over the diver-forums. I have followed all of the steps mentioned above, exported my data as xml (that can only be done if one individual dive is chosen, otherwise you can only export as pdf) but to no avail. I opened the xml file with different programs but all I can see are these stupid undecipherable "blobs".

These blobs don't seem to be numerical (ie depths or temperatures in hex-format, as it used to be with SDM 1.6). These blobs look like (sorry for the harsh term) a piss-take.

I used to write Excel-macros that can decode vpr-files exported from SDM 1.6 and I would be savvy enough to decode these 'blobs' if only the Suunto Support Team would give the least amount of a clue how to do it.

So far, I can only scratch my samples on a piece of paper. I am angry with SM4 but I like the 'Hardware', my SD4i.
