Anyone use a Suunto DX for Freediving? Lost my D4, picked this up last week and so haven't used it yet. The manual is very basic with regards to diving in Guage mode and does not reference Freediving mode. Not sure if anyone can offer some advice?

Also, can I mix and match say Freediving/deep snorkel dives day one then Scuba the next day on the same computer or will it lock out? Do I need to increase the sample rates?

Hi Frogger

For some reason Suunto have applied FREE mode to all the computers in the D series but the new DX.
I lost a D4 too and saved the money for a D9TX to replace it, and it works fantastic for free diving!
Not sure about the lock out feature.

Thanks Herup. The DX has a gauge mode but the shortest sampling interval is 10sec which isn't great for Freediving. Also, the manual is sparse on info but I believe if you use it in gauge mode then you cannot switch it to dive mode for 48hrs. Not sure about the other way around at this point.
