SW England dive spots??

I have been diving around Exeter area and it has been SHALLOW!!! I don't like to swim mile offshore and get -10M max...so where should I go??? about Devon, Cornwall area...not too far from Exeter, or am I just out of luck with my location...??
And you UK spearos what fishes do you catch?? I have not seen many fishes when diving?? is there fish in the sea around Devon??

Well I see no reply, so I give some myself...:hmm I just went to

Minehead it is located straight north above Exeter, the place is beatiful, but the diving is seriously not worth the drive!! especially if you are doing shore dives...as I was... max depth was about 10M and visibility was about 20CM!!! seriously I have never been diving in a place with less visibility!!!! I hated it..

Exemouth, right close Exeter, it is ok visibility, but again depth is just about 10M nothing great to look at.... don't dive where there is signs that say Strong current....nothing to see.. quite a walk from trainstation if you do it the way as I did..

Sidmouth, little bit East from Exemouth, diving is ok, best so far.. it is fairly good viz after about 300M from the shore.. depth is not good though.. 10M AGAIN, but there is actually starfish and crabs and even sharks, little ones just redspotted ones.. But still cool

I have sufer friends and I think I'll be in some surfing spot next weekend... I'll let you konw how it is..
Anyone diving around these areas let me know what you have found out..I am especially interested in steep rocky walls..so if any in SW UK let me know I want to check it out before I decide where I am going to work this summer...

why oh why did you go to minehead, the river seven runs in to the bristol channel thats why no vis mate.

try porthleven, nice place, go play with the seals and the vis should be around 5 to 10m on a good day.

Uh it is bit far.. I gotta find a ride to there.. then perhaps... I'll go there someday, did you say seals??? Oh how cool! can you spearfish there??

Why Minehead, well I just wanted to go somewhere else than the south coast right south from Exeter..I'll learn, eventually.. thanks for the tip mate!
