I have various items of swimwear available for Muslim ladies or simply girls diving in warm water and don't want to wear a "show-all" lycra.

Please see attached pdf for prices and available sizes.

to me it is inconcievable that women would be forced to cover themselves.i am all about choices for everyone! .

Mate, 100% of the Muslim women I know cover up by choice, they are not forced. They are also proud of it and a lot of the women wear designer abaya gear which costs 1000s of dollars. Its very elegant and feminine, you would have to actually experience it first hand to see it instead of what you are shown on TV.

but offensive to women ?

Offensive to women by saying that they should be stoned. I didnt find that amusing.

i live in key west, which, if you dont know, is one of the most tolerant and free places in the united states. this is partially why i misunderstood.

That being the case mate, then please be more tolerant with people who choose to dress conservatively, whether for religious purposes or tradition (which is also the case in the United Arab Emirates, of which the capital is Abu Dhabi).

I live here freely, I don't cover up, only when i feel i need to out of respect for certain families. I live a free life and do what I want, go where I want, and say what I want. I respect local culture and also admire it. My feelings aside, your original post was out of order and not even funny.

I do need to clarify one thing however; it was suggested by Sara that my jest was found to be offensive to Muslims,

Not just me mate, your post was reported by other people as well, and deleted by Adrian. My location, has nothing to do with my post. The swimwear is actually imported from the US of A.

Cheers
Sara

JTKwest,
I think that it was nice of you to clarify,
just one point of clarification on my part, and not take this thread into a religious discussion, but most women who wear the veil in Arab countries (such as Egypt for example) are not forced to do so, most of them in my country do it by choice, i am muslim and my wife, mother and sister dont wear the veil..and they are not frowned upon in any way over here..
cheers..

Nice to see some innovative sportswear for women! I remember seeing a woman in Indo swimming in the west of Java with a ridiculous amount of clothes on, and thought it would be great if someone developed a line like this.

youre right Eric, it gets dangerous too with clothes on i think..

Man you take you job seriously Island_Sands (so that's what you meant by erection supervision;)).

Hi Island Sands (Sara)

I didn't see the offensive post written but can understand the frustration. I'm glad to see you so active with the "women" in the Arab world. I was on your website once before and see you have a womens only dive class. In my opinion this is fantastic.

The person who is responding back now after writing his post in my opinion does seem to be sorry for what he has written. When he says he is from Key West and it is one of the more free areas and that this is somehow a partial excuse though I think is a bit misleading. I think what he is tryinng to say is that he lives in an area where the peorple (women) dress with next to nothing on and that the culture he lives in has eroded some of his morals in writing with jokes etc... I also live in the U.S. and find that the culture has started to erode many peoples morals and they don't even know it. I know many people in Florida and elsewhere that do not act this way and Key West should not be thought of as some anti Muslim place. You can find bigots everywhere as I'm sure you know.

Our culture / news media etc... influence all of us depending on the slant it is given to us in. I think your responses to him have made him understand and think about the person he has become. Nice job. We can be sorry for what we write but if we don't understand who we have become then being sorry is for naught.

wow i was kidding. touchy ,touchy. to clarify: i was being sarcastic! the women i see on tv look miserable in those black robes. but they are Afghan or Iraqi not arab. and THEY ARE forced to wear them. Abu Dhabi is like one of the richest countries in the world and hardly a reference standard of how afghanis lived uder the Taliban ,( for instance).or iran or iraq....... I dont stone people either,(i cant believe you took that literally)C'MON!! Key West is crazy though ,you got that right ! cross dressers ,alcoholics, etc. good place to live for diving though. HEY GUYS REALLY I AM SORRY! i am just a fool who cares what i say anyway?

Those are nice styles :) Any issues with gaps? I would think not, considering that they are designed with modesty in mind.

Hi Rachel
The majority if muslim women I have seen don't wear gloves - so to have the hands/feet exposed is not an issue.

I see many women swimming in abayas and as erik said, its uncomfortable and also dangerous - these designs are great and also for non-muslims who live here, it makes a great alternative for diving in the summer when the water is 39degC.

Btw (from above) - I have been to both iraq and afghanistan and I assure you that is not the case.

Cheers
Sara

I was specifically meaning problems with the top riding up. The high neckline is a good idea to reduce gaps. I can definitely see the usefulness of this swimwear. Modest as well as practical, and it eliminates the need for much sunblock. Looks nice too :)

I am not muslim and despise religion of any form - but if a women(or man) wants to dress in a way that makes her feel more comfortable in the society or moral climate in which she lives then she should also have the right to obtain well designed, cofortable, and safe, quality gear.
Whether you believe in the freedom of the bikini or the moral comfort of Islamic dress then either way I for one fully support your right to do so and to do so without fear of judgement from the intolerant.

JTKwest..
where are you getting your information dude? seriously, you seem to be misinformed bigtime on some of the stuff you say..i think you need to go on tour and cross the big water one day and mix with different cultures...youd be surprized at some of the stuff you will see versus whats on the tele, in key west ;)

1- Muslims are not oversensitive to jokes, and im sure that if your african american buddy, got a joke about race from someone he doesnt know, he wont be as nice, joking with close friends is a different story, because you know that their intentions are not offensive...
2 - There are no laws for women to wear the veil in most muslim countries, i say most because i dont know the law in each and every country..but its the case at least for Emirates, Lebanon, Syria, jordan, egypt, morocco, tunisia, etc...

3 - Thats not me on the camel in the avatar and we dont live in pyramids over here, just in case that thought crossed your mind :)

i hope youre not one of the oversensitive people that wont take my lighthearted comments/jokes too good..

Damm Marwan I was hoping to visit you in your pyramid when i was in Egypt next time. You have shattered my vision of Egypt.

In Dahab once and loved it and the culture, I even enjoyed the fact that there was very little alcohol available. Imagine an Irish man saying that. Dawn call to prayer loved it and have the red sea dj playing on the ipod on a regular basis but have no idea what the lyrics are but love the tunes.

Feargus!,
come again mate and ill build a pyramid for you :) glad you enjoyed it, one day i would like to visit ireland too, i was in an irish bar once, but i dont suppose that counts :)

Cheers Marwan back to topic well done on having the line available sara.
