Is there any danger of doing tables at 12ft depths in the pool? We do have a buddy to watch. We were kind of wondering if there was any risk of DCS with the short surface intervals as you get towards the later holds in a table.

I don't know much about DCS and freediving - I've only seen it assosiated with frequent dives with short surface intervals to 35m+ - having said that it's maths at the end of the day so if you tried hard enough and made your surface intervals short enough, maybe you'd get it in shallower depths... Might be useful for others that know more than me if you post a few more details (ie numbers) on what you are doing.

Why are you doing the tables at 12ft out of curiosity?

a techie might have a better answer but I think you would need to be doing a super duration ie hours and hours as the partial pressure would be low so cant see any risk of dcs but obvioulsy a risk of bo with shorter recovery but thats training. DCS can affect different people in different ways so hydrate well on any dive.

I doubt it. Digging out my old dive table which only goes as shallow as 35 ft you get close to 200 minutes of bottom time at that depth.

DCS should not be an issue, but I discourage you from training statics at depth. The risk of BO is significantly higher due to the change of PaO2 during the ascent, and the surveillance and BO detection/rescue more difficult than when training at surface. Besides it, at surface the training is more efficient due to the lower PaO2, and weaker diving reflex, so surface training will bring you to better results faster.
