I have only recently bought myself an open cell wetsuite and must say that its a great improvement from my previous close cell wetsuite.

How do I take care of it to get maximum lifetime from it? how often must I wash it? How?

Make sure you cut your nails before going diving :)

There are a few things you can do to extend the life of your suit. Wash it after each dive with either a wetsuit shampoo or a shampoo for children. I use McNett wetsuit shampoo mixed with cool water in a large plastic barrel. Then I rinse the suit thoroughly. Hang it up to dry out of the sun! And don't leave it hanging on cheap thin hangers that might cause the suit to deform in the shoulders. Do not pile other dive gear on top of your suit. If you put it into a gear bag for travel put the suit on top of the other gear, not the other way around thereby compressing the neoprene excessively causing it to lose elasticity, thickness and warmth. Most importantly, when donning the suit use plenty of lubricant to avoid pulling and stretching the neoprene. Hope that helps.
