Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

I wonder when the term Freediver began to be used for breath-hold divers. I've been browsing the web for freediving literature, and with amusement found several "freediving" books from 50's speaking actually about aqualung (tank) divers as freedivers. It is true that in comparison to the ancient scaphander divers, they were indeed rather free though :D
