I JUST GOT MY LUNGS TESTED TODAY TO SEE WHAT MY LUNG VOLUME IS.AND THIS WHAT THE SPIROMETER CAME UP WITH.

I AM 33 YEARS OLD, 173 CM TALL, AND WAY 87 KGS. THE DOCTOER SAID THAT MY LUNG CONDITION IS EQUIVELENT TO SOMEONE OF 30 YEARS OLD. BUT MY LUNG FLEXABILITY IS AT 90% EFECIENCY FOR SOMEONE MY AGE.

FEV, 3.61 LITRES FVC 4.70 LITERS.

PERSONAL BEST STATIC 3.24 .

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TOO ME WHERE I CAN IMPROVE MY OVERALL HEALTH ,BODY WEIGHT ETC TO BE A BETTER FREE DIVER. MOST OF MY DIVING IS CONSTANT WEIGHT HANGS AT 15 TO 20 METRES.IS IT POSSIBLE TO IMPROVE MY STATIC APNEA WITH A LUNG VOLUME OF 4.7 LITRES. MY PB IS 3.24

ANY INPUT MUCH APRICIATED.

Hi Malta spearo,

I remember trying to improve my statics... and simply by doing controlled slow breathing will help. take deep breath hold it for little while then slowly breath out, keep steady rythm and make sure you are not running out of oxygen or hyperventilating but just relaxing into your breathing.. then do your breath-hold I am sure your static will improve..

I PM'd you about my trip to Malta.. check it out.

Good luck and sfae diving!

Pekka
