Camera mount

Here's some photos of my camera mount.

Its the Gopro bike mount with some of the screws cut down so it could be mounted upside down.

Heres some film from the test on the weekend, the wide angle lens is good for close ups but it makes the fish seem small, mind you some of them were :)

The camera mount is the Gopro bike mount ,it is bought separate to the camera but is a gopro accessory. Just needs some of the bolts shorting to fit the speargun.

Struggling with the Bass at the moment unless you've got some good spots :)

No it's not as bad as You might think , with both eyes open you can sight the fish under the camera.

Could you fix it to the right hand side with this mount? What are the images like in the moving footage? I have been thinking of getting one of these cameras for this, as my fuji in the housing is quite bulky. Is yours the 3 or 5 megapixel & do you know if the 5 is worth paying the extra?

Hi you could fit the mount to the right if you wanted,it seems to sit better mounted above but that's personal thing I guess.

As for the video quality check out the video in the above post, I have the 5mp wide angle and it's a good little camera I couldn't comment on the 3mp as I haven't used it.

Hope this helps Chris :)

You mentioned the Go-Pro mounts, but is it a Go-Pro camera too?

Yes it the go pro camera the wide angle one, makes your speargun look super long and the fish super small :)

I've finally come up with a solution for my go Pro mounting. The bike connector is ok, I have mine off to the side and that bugs me i cant imagine how you guys cope with having it smack bang in the middle.

My dad used to hanglide, and had a mount designed to attach a camer to a hanglider pole. I decided to try this on my gun, and it works incredibly well, Initially I thought the velcro might inhibit the gun firing but it seems that the shaft just slides along it with no problem.

As its attached with velcro you can move it up and down the barrel at will (i moved it closer to offset the wide angle issue). Or even take it off and strap it to your arm.

By far the easiest, most flexible solution Ive tried yet. The arm on the mount is movable , so you can loosen it up and change the angle. The attachment is solid as well, it doesnt move when you fire the gun.

I had to modify the go pro mount, I cut out a section of the central runner and trimmed the head of a bolt to match it, drilled a hole though, so I could bolt it to the Camera mount. 10 minutes work.
