Thats what I was thinking.... A nice Christmas present!
Although I ordered it 4 weeks ago and it has not turned up yet....
I emailed the address above ( support@amorgen.com ) last week but I've not had any response from them...

Disappointing.

Me too. After ordering this on 18 December, I was hoping to see this at least in January, in keeping with the 10-30 day timing indicated when I ordered it online.

When I enquired by email to 'info@amorgen.com' on 2 February I got no reply.

I am trying to support this movie, but if no reply is forthcoming I will have to reverse the credit card charge. I don't want to do that I would rather just get the movie.

Do you guys think there is any point in waiting longer? I am patient and will understand if there has been a genuine problem, but I don't like being taken advantage of and I find it disappointing when people fail to deliver on service or products that they have already sold.

Mine arrived after about three weeks, so it might be worth waiting Reid. Still haven't watched it.

Perhaps Sky could let us know if this situation under control. I would have thought it'd be an embarassment and he'd be onto it, he could start by at least getting those responsible for distribution to reply to their emails?
If Chris got his copy after 3 weeks and I have been waiting 8 weeks, then I expect maybe they stuffed up my order or it got lost in the mail. These things happen and I'm not upset about it.
I'm inclined to just cancel this Amorgen charge on my card and order through Amazon whom I have found to be very reliable in the past.

I the DVD on the 14th of Dec via the amorgen website. (seems amazon orders are ok)

On the 8th of Jan (it was for a Christmas present) I gave up waiting and contacted Amorgen support email and this also replied on this website.... No answer anywhere....

I tracked Sky down on facebook and when I contacted him (18th of Jan) he said that he was sorry and it must have been the new system they have moved over to on the Amorgen site and boxbe. He apologised and promised to send me out a new one immediately. He acknowledged there were many other people with problems.

Then on the 21st of Jan he contacted me to say he researched my order further and they never did send out my DVD as I paid for US postage.... and not international!!!!!
1) I doubt it, but their website had changed and I could not verify what I had paid.... but I am well used to purchasing online and usually know how to round up an order to Ireland!!
2) so they took my money and waited 5 weeks without sending me a dvd or replying to me to tell me of the problem?????

In fairness tho at that stage Sky did offer to send it out to me and cover the difference himself....

But...

That was over 3 weeks ago... and still no sign.

I sent him another message on FB on the 16th of Feb offering to pay for a fedex delivery... but no answer as yet!

Over 2 months and no DVD. Tis a bit of a joke really :(

I've had a copy for a while, came the first week it was released. As far as the movie goes I dont want to say anything bad because I know allot of money and hard work went into it so I'll spare everyone a critique.

I agree but didnt feel like being the bad guy on this one, at least we have the trubridge "breath" movie and PFI "submerged" films to look forward to, and wasnt there some kind of 3D herbert movie in the works--- but yeah I think if you want to see flow in freediving there are countless youtubes that do a much better job

Well... as a movie it sucks. What comes to freediving it sucks even more. This is just my honest opinion.

-Jukka

I received the film a few weeks ago without any problems. I don't think it directly sucks, I think that if you try to remove the sort of 'Ironman Fantastica' element from freediving (a la the trailer for 'Big Blue' :)), but still want a surprise at the end, this is what you can do. I don't know if the suggestion, that freediving can provide that kind of medical therapy, makes any sense, but in terms of plot points and stuff, it worked ok. Perhaps it's a bit silly, and perhaps it takes it a while to get going, and perhaps some of the acting could've been better, but I still thought it was a nice little human story. Better than 'Freediver', anyway. :head

yes, this movie teaches us that all you need for a world record attempt are some daddy issues and lots and lots of power lifting as your sole preparation.rofl

Ok, I think you're a tad unfair, 'cause one, the character had a different agenda than the mere record attempt, as we learn with the ending, and two, the scene with the fitness training has two story purposes at that point: To illustrate the competitive environment the character is in, while also stating that something funky is up with his lungs. It doesn't try to show how you should train for a freediving world record attempt. Agreed, some of this may be a touch far fetched, but you can do it that way. And that's the variation I actually like here, who cares about that record attempt?

Actually I think powerlifting is excellent training for freediving. It's more unfortunate that the diver was portrayed using bifins and a mask, swimming rather clumsily!

Chris- Fair enough, Eric- Agreed, I'm perhaps a bit overcritical I used to teach art at university level and am a bit conditioned to picking work apart. I think tech stuff i.e. filming editing etc. were well done and I understand from older posts what they intended to portray with the film- a non hollywood movie showing the beauty of freediving, but there isnt that much actual freediving in the film and what there is comes off very cold too me, the nightmare visions during his dive dont help that, and as Eric pointed out is less than gracefull, PFI people were on hand should have used them, The acting comes off too whiny/crybaby to be convincing as spiritual to me---I really want to like this movie and gave it a second watch after my first posts but I just cant get into it--they talk about flow allot in the commentary and hint at it in dialog in the movie but it doesnt come across that well visually in the movie, I also don't know that a non freediver watching this movie would come away with good feelings about freediving as the film primarily shows it as a horrifying psychological struggle-again I think the nightmare visions and lack of convincing acting outweigh the minor attemps to insert positives/flow/or spiritual elements into the dialog, Eric-- not only did he use bi-fins but he starts the dive with plastic fins and ends the dive with c4 carbons

Just an update.... as you can see from my previous 2 posts in this thread.... I ordered the dvd last December and as of yet I have still not received it despite monthly communications with Sky...
A lot of words come to my mind to describe Sky and Amorgen.... but I'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt... am I daft to expect that they will send me out the DVD I paid for 6 months ago?
Anyone got a spare copy lying around? I ordered the signed version at the time but that doesn't seem so important now :(
Have I been conned?

Hi dude,
You can have mine DVD. Im from Finland so it might take a while. Just send me your adress and it send it.
