Now to the more important question: how can we use it for freediving?
I am not sure... I'll get back to you with an idea.

However I do have a very good idea after the water gets in. We invent a new sport.

roflrofl

I can honestly see that happening rofl

Put a trolly all the way around the edge and use it to tow water skiers. Then we can dive in peace.

Uhhh!! i searched google.... i find out another biggest one 3777m deep...consist of rich GOLD and it is also a Gold Mine...did not find out any pic...what the hell is that!. : D :D

Having a hole like that filled with water would be worth all the diamonds in the world.

I saw one, which has water in it (only at the bottom, of course). Still I don't know how deep, 'cause the whole mine is so big.

Hi. FYI, diamond diving is a big industry up the West Coast of South Africa and Namibia- excellant source of top quality rocks for De Beers. Divers use large vacuum hoses to suck up diamond bearing gravel from small deposits in gulleys and under large boulders. Back breaking dangerous work but some make their fortune. The 3777m mine is most probably Western Deep Levels mine near on the Rand, South Africa. I don't think there is a straight shaft all the way down but still impressive. The bottom is at least 1800m below sea level- wonder what tables you would use?

Dive safe

Isnt that the Kimberly Hole, in South Africa?
we used to make jokes about girls whose names were Kim rofl

Edit: sorry just checked the link.

Now, if it were in Texas, a bunch of locals would've "borrowed" the neighbor's garden hose at 2:00 in the morning and left it running in that hole until 7:00.

Repeat that for about a year, and you've got yerself a clear-water, flouridated and chlorinated swimmin' hole!

The only downside is a 300% increase in obligatory discarded BandAids that one typically finds at the bottom of public swimming pools.

Oh, but think of the lost earrings there are to recover!
