Ok, so I've just seen the Canadian premiere of "The Cove" (The Cove Movie - Watch The Trailer) that screened in front of a sold out audience at the HotDocs film festival here in Toronto. This film won the Audience Award at the Sundance film festival and will likely be a strong contender at this festival as well.
I can't recommend this movie enough! From a freediver's or a conservationist's vantage point (or both as many of us are!) you will love this film. And what's more, it's highly engaging. Enough so, I think, to maybe to convince some of those who are not terribly conservationist in their thinking the importance of taking notice at least, and maybe even taking positive action. In my opinion this will be on par or bigger than Sharkwater. And as we try to spread awareness of what's happening to our oceans, this is a big step in the right direction.
I think there may still be a few tickets left for Thursday's screening, then it'll be gone 'till August 11th when it'll be released in theatres here in Canada.
