The End of the Hyperfin? The DOL-Fin X-20 Review

Very positive review, thanks laminar.

When wearing a lot of suit, buoyancy in the legs is high near the surface, which would eliminate the tail heavy issues I was having. Deeper than 20 m, most of the buoyancy is gone. Did you have any issues with the fin seeming tail heavy when going slow and horizontal at depth?

Did you find the x20 significantly better than the x18?

Connor

Hi Does anyone know whether anyone done some serious depth with the dolfin below 70m?

I'm the only person who has gone below 70m with the DOL-Fin, when I did 77.9m at Vertical Blue 2012 (see youtube). The dive was joke easy and I could have done 100m+ with the fin.

I did 50m depth dive with Dol-fin Orca at Cayman Comp this spring. Was personal best for me and very very easy. There are absolutely no issues with Orca at depth. I don't train depth much so am pretty much always equilization limited so could have done 50m easily with any other fin (I did 45m No Fins). Point is the work load was way less than my previous wings nemo fin and I think lower or as low as hyper fin based on my comparing results (how hard easy etc) compared to other competitors at that comp who used the Hyper fin. Cheers Wes
